By actively participating in multiple international and regional networks and activities—such as the Nanyang Academy of Sciences (NASS), the International Academy of Sciences Union, and the Asia–Pacific Academy of Publishing Association (APAPA)—it promotes academic exchange and collaboration, connects academia, industry, and government, and provides strong support for the advancement of science, technology, and innovation in Malaysia.

History and Social Impact

JUL 2023

Officially founded in Malaysia, APSNSIE defined its role as a leading think tank in natural sciences and information engineering, releasing its first vision and strategic framework.

JAN 2024

Membership exceeded 1,000. Established the International Academic Exchange Fund, supporting at least 10 global research and visiting projects annually; completed preparations for the Society’s e-journal and launched calls for papers in key research areas.

APR 2024

Established three discipline committees (Computer Science, Physics, Communication Engineering) and launched cross-domain groups on AI × Sustainability and Data Governance, promoting deeper disciplinary development.

SEP 2024

Released the “Southeast Asia Science & Innovation Outlook 2024” White Paper; launched an open academic resource repository (datasets, reports, methodologies); appointed 40 Fellows from 6 countries; strengthened collaboration with networks such as NASS and APAPA.

MAR 2025

Membership exceeded 1,000. Established the International Academic Exchange Fund, supporting at least 10 global research and visiting projects annually; completed preparations for the Society’s e-journal and launched calls for papers in key research areas.

SEP 2025

Convened the First Industry–Academia Roundtable, initiating 5 joint research pilots and releasing 3 policy briefs. Expanded to 5 academic committees, grew to 60 Fellows, and launched the Pre-Standardization Taskforce to draft three technical specifications in natural sciences and information engineering.
